Dreams and Nightmares (a Nalu Story) Chapter 8

***Normal POV***

The hooded figured stood in front of the grave with an amused smile.

"I should have known," the figure said in a husky baritone, "Your Fairy Tail brats did a fantastic job with the barriers when it came for your resting place, Mavis."

He turned and saw the angry Mavis staring down at him with green daggers.

"Flattering won't get you anywhere," the ghost hissed.

"Now, now," the man put his hands up in a calming jester, "there's no reason to be like that."

"You have no business here," she jumped down from the tree, not softening her tone, "Leave."

The figure let out a laugh, "Like I'm going to do that. Well, not till I get what I came for."

Mavis's eyes widened a little, "You're still after the Lumen Histoire, aren't you?"

He laughed again, which made Mavis puzzled.

"Oh Mavis, what I want is something much more powerful than Lumen Histoire. What I want is something much more important. Something you and Zeref wants created, but you destroyed. Something that the first generation nearly died stopping it," them he paused and gave a wicked grin, "Something that Miss Layla Heartifilia died for."


Mavis froze, her pupels the size of pinpoints and the island when perfect silent.

"Y-Your after the Sinned Stones." Mavis said in a horse voice, "the only remains of the Seven Sinners."

"Ah, yes," he nodded.

"The Seven Sinners, manifestations from Zeref himself. Wonderful creatures with abilities much higher than any wizard. Unfortiontly, when you sacifriced yourself to save your pathelic guild they all vanish into nothing more than stones which scattered across the globe."

"I don't know what you are planning on using them for, but you will never find them," Mavis spat.

"Oh, really?" He smirked and pulled out a necklace with a circle of different color jewels on. The emerald one was glowing.

"Sloth," She cursed.

Still smiling the man continued, "Yes, Sloth. He woke up first but was forced to stay dormant for ten, no I'm sorry, seventeen years till the woman's spell wore off. Now he wants revenge and he wouldn't stop till he gets the girl."

Mavis narrowed her eyes, "I suppose you are telling me this 'cause you don't intend me to leave the island."

"Nope," he put away the necklace "I want you to tell them. It'll make this more fun....and it's too late to stop Sloth. He's already with the girl.

"Why you," Mavis clenched her teeth, "So you came all this way to write your death sentence."

He bunked his head, "Oh, I almost forgot."

Then the man turned back to the grave and pointed at it. A small beam of black energy shot out of his finger and with a giant explosion, blew up the grave. When the smoke cleared, the man squatted down and dug untill he found a small leather bag. Opening and looking inside, he seemed satisfied.

"So long, Master Mavis," He said before disappearing.

Mavis only stood there hands clenched in rage and fear, but she had a small smile, "Idiot, do you really think I would hide Wrath in such an obvious place? You never change, Koga."

(At the train station)

***Lucy's POV***

"I can't believe this!" I screamed. I couldn't help it.

We were only half way to Thaila and the train we were supposed to take was canceled.

"Sorry, Miss," said the conductor, "but I'm afraid the only way to get to Thaila now is by walking."


"Awwwwwwww!!!" I cried out, "That will take a day."

"I don't see what the problem it," Happy commented.

"THAT'S BECAUSE YOU CAN FLY!!" I yelled. Stupid cat.

Erza frowned, "Are you sure there isn't another way?"

The conductor scratched his balding head, "Well, you could rent a magic mobile, but I  doute they will like give you one if you're heading to Thaila."

Erza knitted her eyebrows together, "Why not?"

The conductor looked to the east and said "Strange things have been happening, a sickness or something. No one wants to go near there."

"Well, we'll take our chances," Erza smiled "Come on, Gray, Lucy, Happy and, um, where's Natsu?"

I turned and saw him sprawled across the floor.

"Natsu?" Happy flew over to him.


"N-Never...never...riding a-a...stupid...train...a-again," He mowned.


The blue cat sighed, "You always say that."

"Gray, you and I will talk to the dealer. Lucy, you and Happy take care of Natsu," Erza ordered.

"Okay, but why am I always stuck helping him when he's sick?" I asked while hauling Natsu up to his feet.

"Because he lllllllllllliiiiiiiikes you," Gray and Erza slurred in unison.

My face went a shade of red, "S-Shut up!"

After Gray and Erza left, I took Natsu to the nearest bench and plopped down, heaving a sigh.

"Geez, this day just gets better and better," I said to no one in partically.

"Lucy?" said the squeaky voice of the cat.

"Hmm?" I put my head in my hands.

"You know Natsu didn't mean to hurt your feelings earlier today. He was just worried."

I looked at Natsu and saw he was asleep, "Yeh, I know but we've been only plenty of dangerous missions before. What makes this any different?"

"Maybe its because of what happened last night," Happy frowned.

"I don't see why. Everyone gets nightmares once in a while."

Then he went quiet, which kind of scared me, "Lucy, you don't know?"

"Know what?"

Then Happy paused before saying, "Um, about the giant fish that tried to take over Magnolia?"

Worse liar ever.

"Okay, Happy, spill it," I ordered.

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean."

"Did you do something to your hair?"

I was getting irritated now and began pinching his cheeks, "Happy tell he whats going on?"

The cat whailed in pain, "I-I can't tell you. G-Gramps said not to...ow, this hurts."

"Gramps?" I let go of him.

The Master never kept things from us unless it was very dangerous. I guess something terrible is going to happen.

"What do you mean Happy?"

Happy looked at me, "Well, I over heard Gramps and Natsu talking about something bad and he needed Natsu to keep an eye on you."

"There was also something about your mom, I think. I don't know," he blurted out.

I stiffened, "My Mama. What did they say?"

The blue cat shrugged, "Not sure, they weren't talking about fish so I left but Natsu found me and told me not to tell."

Before I could say anything Erza and Grey returned.

"We were able to get one, but lets not blow it up this time," Erza said.

"Hey, I'm not the one who blows things up," I said annoyed.

"Yeh, yeh," Gray sighed, "Why don't you get Natsu in the mobile."

I looked at him, "Gray,"

"Hm?"

"Your clothes."

He looked down, "Crap! When did that happen?"

While Gray was putting his clothes back on and Erza put our bags in the trunk, I woke up Natsu and helped him into the mobile.

"Not again," he cried.
